Meditation and raising awareness are neither an activity of the mind nor the cessation of the mind. 
 It is simply being knowingly the presence of Awareness.

It is a very useful practice to calm the mind and it benefits the body to become at ease and totally relaxed.
There are different forms of meditation benefits, from visualizations to floating on binaural beats, etc.
The growing field of spirituality offers the seekers many forms of meditating, but many times those are not really Sage-like which means leading away from distractions or wishful thinking. 
We recommend and promote a form of Dao (breath) meditation extracted from the scriptures of the Sages, which is working towards becoming inwardly at ease and restful. There is no pressure on 'getting something or arriving somewhere', it is all about letting go and resulting in a huge reduction of stressTo meditate it does not need all sorts of postures. 
It only needs focus, attention and being in the present moment without any distractions.

In the life of every person, two forces of knowledge are operative from birth:

1 the power of human reason, along with its satellites of sensation, perception, conception, and so forth;
2 the power of intuition.

The former is developed through social institutions and interactions. The latter usually remain uncultured, undeveloped, because of want of proper guidance and methods of training. To progress and to avoid the misery of mistakes, you have to find what is the truth in everything. This is possible only if you develop your intuition and awareness.
When developed sufficiently, intuition brings immediate comprehension of truth. You can have this marvelous realization.

We are living in an atmosphere of polarizing opposites - Yin and Yang - that are always playing out between extremes. If we learn to understand the dynamics, we can understand our natural environment and be able to choose wisely in our actions. 


To sustain ourselves we need to act wisely, and take rest and Yin activity for compensation, simultaneously  restoring balance and harmony for ourselves and the environment.
